Online casino games and software developer Microgaming used the first day of the ongoing ICE Totally Gaming exhibition in London to announce the signing of an agreement that will see Triple Edge Studios supply it with a range of exclusive content.

Isle of Man-based Microgaming described Triple Edge Studios as ‘an independent global games studio’ before stating that the deal is part of a new strategy that is to involve developers providing it with ‘different styles and types of games’ on an exclusive basis so as to allow it to offer ‘even greater choice and innovation’ and ‘deliver the very best gaming experience’ to partner firms and their players.

Roger Raatgever, Chief Executive Officer for Microgaming, declared that Triple Edge Studios has become ‘the first in a number of game studios’ to agree to provide content to his firm on an exclusive basis in order to bolster the company’s position as ‘the market’s must-have provider of gaming content’.

“As the front-runner in the industry, our focus is always on what we can do next and exclusive content from independent global studios will play a huge part in delivering Microgaming’s growth strategy this year,” read a Tuesday statement from Raatgever. “It is all about delivering content that is targeted; be it a segment of players or a specific market.”

For its part, Triple Edge Studios, which has already developed online video slots such as Halloween and Oink Country Love, explained that it has kicked off the special deal by making its new Playboy Gold title available to Microgaming on an exclusive basis. It proclaimed that the six-reel game was developed under a pre-existing licensing arrangement with Playboy Enterprises Incorporated and comes complete with ‘a host of base game and bonus features to keep players entertained’ while moreover ‘embracing the iconic international Playboy brand to the fullest’.

“Following months of hard work we are proud to be an exclusive provider of content to Microgaming, the trailblazer in online gaming,” read a statement from Brendan Walton, Design Lead for Triple Edge Studios. “Playboy Gold has been a brilliant game to work on and is a sign of the exciting things to come from Triple Edge Studios.”
