On Saturday, a new poker room was launched at the Star Vegas Resort and Club in Cambodia. The new poker room is branded the Poker King Club and was opened during an Asian Poker Tour event.

Having kicked off on July 1st, the Asian Poker Tour Southeast Asia event is set to continue until the 7th of July at the Star Vegas with the poker room opening during this tournament series.

The Star Vegas is located in Poipet which is near the border of Thailand. Donaco International Ltd. is the owner and operator of the casino resort. The APT Southeast Asia series has been quite popular with players, especially pros, with Tetsuya Tsuchikawa of Japan earning the first place win during the welcome event.

The Poker King Club opening ceremony saw several well-known people in attendance including former members of Manchester United, the English football club. Players who attended included Pau Scholes, Philip Neville, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt.

It was back in 2015 that Donaco began a three-year sponsorship deal with Manchester United and under the deal, Donaco became the “exclusive casino resort partner” of the football club in several regions including Cambodia, Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam and more.

In May of this year, Donaco signed a deal for three years with Kings Consulting Ltd, which would see the Star Vegas casino hosting at least three international poker tournaments. The Poker King Club brand is owned by Kings Consulting, which is a unit of the Suncity Group.
