A fire that erupted today next to the Bamboo Pool on the west side of Cosmopolitan Las Vegas has sent one person to the emergency room for smoke inhalation.

News footage shows black smoke rising from burning palm trees and pool cabanas. Smoke was visible from the Strip.

Over 100 fire fighters responded to the fire that was reported at about 12:45 p.m. Smoke entered the building and guests on several floors of the hotel were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

The hospitalized victim’s name and condition were unknown at press time.
