PokerStars has just finished up the Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker (PACOOP) and saw great success from the annual poker tournament series. This was the second time the PACOOP took place, with plenty of action to uncover. Now that the PA series is over, the online poker platform will now focus on the New Jersey version.
PACOOP Details
The PACOOP took place from September 19 through October 5. The total guaranteed prize money was a little higher than the inaugural series, coming in at $1.5 million. However, with so many poker players competing, the series moved just past the $2 million mark when it comes to prizes awarded. Almost every event met its quota, with PokerStars only having to come up with a short amount in overlays.
There were 50 events on the schedule this year. The Main Event was a big hit, offering a $200,000 prize pool. With 1,013 entries, the prize pool increased to $283,640.
NJCOOP
Now that the PACOOP has come to an end, PokerStars can focus on the NJCOOP. They offer the same great series in New Jersey, with a few varying differences. The New Jersey version will begin on October 10 and continue through October 26. There will be $1 million in prize pool money guaranteed across 54 events. While the prize money is lower than PA, the number of events is a bit higher.
The schedule in NJ will offer a bit more variety than players found in Pennsylvania. There are your standard NLHE events as well as turbo options and short-handed tables. There are even more progressive knockouts on the schedule, along with Badugi and H.O.R.S.E.
