After last month finishing its $631 million purchase of online casino games innovator NYX Gaming Group Limited, American gaming machine innovator Scientific Games Corporation has now announced the combination of these assets with those of its SG Interactive subsidiary to create the new SG Digital proposition.

Scientific Games Corporation, which is currently in the midst of exhibiting its wares at London’s ICE Totally Gaming exhibition, stated that SG Digital will have a global business-to-business focus and is set to become ‘the most diverse supplier of digital gaming and sportsbetting technology and content in the industry’.

Las Vegas-based Scientific Games Corporation further declared that SG Digital is to encompass ‘some of the most established and successful brands in iGaming, sportsbetting and iLottery’ including its portfolio of nine in-house online games development studios and will handle innovative products such as its SG Universe and OpenBet solutions.

Kevin Sheehan, President and Chief Executive Officer for Scientific Games Corporation, proclaimed that the formation of SG Digital ‘marks the beginning of an exciting and defining new era’ for the company and moreover highlights his firm’s ‘continued ambition and dedication to provide the industry with the very best content, technology and digital products’.

“Our vision is to be the world’s leading supplier of digital gaming, sports and iLottery solutions,” read a Tuesday statement from Sheehan. “With an array of innovative brands, unique products, market-leading services and a pool of highly talented colleagues, SG Digital will allow the business to focus on delivering an even stronger proposition to our customers while creating further opportunities to accelerate growth in this constantly evolving and dynamic sector.”

Scientific Games Corporation explained that SG Digital is to be led by the former Chief Executive Officer for NYX Gaming Group Limited, Matt Davey, with Jason Walbridge serving as its Chief Operating Officer. It detailed that the new entity will have a workforce of some 1,500 people distributed across some 34 offices serving in excess of 200 customers offering more than 2,000 games and holding 40 licenses.

For his part, Davey described the creation of SG Digital as ‘a natural strategic fit’ following Scientific Games Corporation’s purchase of NYX Gaming Group Limited before depicting the chance to lead the new enterprise as a ‘privilege’.

“We have been busy integrating all content, systems and platforms in preparation while our skilled and dedicated teams around the world ensure we now provide unrivalled [and] seamless solutions as SG Digital,” read a statement from Davey.
