American gaming machine and systems innovator, Scientific Games Corporation, is celebrating after its SG Digital entity took home the Casino Platform Supplier of the Year accolade at last week’s 2018 EGR North America Awards.

The Las Vegas-headquartered brand explained via an official press release (pdf) that the official June 26 awards ceremony held at the Le Meridien Philadelphia hotel also saw its SG Lottery subordinate receive an honorary commendation in the Payments Company of the Year category.

SG Corp stated that the annual EGR North America Awards have been designed to recognize service providers and operators that have demonstrated ‘outstanding performance and innovation’ over the previous twelve months. It additionally declared that the award for its SG Digital vehicle has confirmed the success and strength of the recently-established digital gaming and sportsbetting technology vehicle thanks to its Open Platform System (OPS) and Open Gaming System (OGS) innovations with their libraries of over 2,000 games.

Barry Cottle, President and Chief Executive Officer for Scientific Games Corporation, proclaimed that he was ‘honored’ that SG Digital and SG Lottery had been recognized at the 2018 EGR North America Awards in advance of detailing that the latter was commended for its cashless lottery solution, which expanded its options via a pilot with the Pennsylvania Lottery last year to include debit card payments.
