HOLLYWOOD, Fla., April 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) will return to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood, Fla. July 30 – August 19, 2015. The anticipated series schedule is set to be released in the upcoming weeks featuring a single flight, single-entry $5 Million Guaranteed Championship, Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) tournament and a first ever four-event finale.
“The 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open will elevate the poker experience to a new level. The Championship single-entry structure will provide a unique opportunity for players to compete for their share of the $5 million guarantee. Plus, the chance to be part of the finale that showcases four final tables at the same time heightens the energy and excitement of this year’s series,” said General Manager of Poker Operations for Seminole Gaming, Larry Frank.
Televised on CBS Sports Network and live streamed online, the four-event final tables will take place at Hard Rock Live on Tuesday, August 18, carrying a combined total of $7.5 million in guaranteed prize pools. The four final tables include the $5,250 buy-in $5 Million Guaranteed Championship and three additional No Limit Hold’em events – a $25,000 buy-in High Roller, $2,500 buy-in and$1,100 buy-in. Professional poker player and industry celebrity Phil Hellmuth will host and provide commentary for all four final tables simultaneously. Broadcast of the SHRPO final tables will be aired in early 2016.
“This year’s Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship is an event not to be missed. With no re-entry, the format becomes a level playing field for poker pros, satellite winners, and recreational players alike. The postlim events carrying massive guarantees ensure that even if a player busts out of the Championship event, there are more ways to make a huge score,” says Matt Savage, Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open tournament consultant.
Satellite events and promotions will take place at five Seminole Gaming properties – Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, Seminole Casino Brighton and Seminole Casino Immokalee – giving a wide variety of options for a chance to be the next SHRPO Champion.
The CSOP will return to SHRPO for the second year in a row, benefiting Habitat for Humanity International and Habitat for Humanity of Broward charity. Half of each $300 buy-in will be donated to both charities, while the other half of the buy-in will be placed in the tournament prize pool.
The SHRPO series will be the last opportunity for players to earn valuable 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player-of-the-Year Leaderboard Points. First place winner will receive a $30,000 prize package, including entries into the most prestigious tournaments in the country.
On-site registration for the $5 Million Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open will open in July. To participate, players must obtain a free Wild Card at the Player’s Club or in the poker room.
