Las Vegas-based Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) announced on Monday the significant expansion of its SG Digital division Stockholm offices in an effort to meet its growing business needs.
The Stockholm office brings employees division-wide into one central location to focus on platform and gaming development initiatives and technical operations. This year, Scientific Games’ digital division expects that it will see 50 additional employees recruited for its office in the Swedish capital.
In a company news release, Chief Human Resources Officer for SG Digital, Doreena Ross, said: “Stockholm is a perfect addition to our expanded presence: it has a wealth of technology talent, massive growth opportunity, and a great community on which we can build a strong team. We expect increased presence in many other global locations as we drive our products to lead the industry.”
Also commenting on the move, Chief Technology Officer for SG Digital, Chris Armes, said: “Our expanded presence in Stockholm will go a long way in supporting our growth initiatives in Europe. We have tremendous growth opportunity across our organization and this new center will fuel our success in the European market. Now is the perfect time to join the gaming and sports industry; the space is set for continued success and we look forward to years of strong performance from our teams there.”
According to the news release, the following roles will be among those available for the company’s Stockholm office: Senior C++ Platform Developer, Quality Assurance Engineer and DevOps and TechOps Engineer.
The Stockholm expansion comes on the heels of similar initiatives in Montreal, London, Krakow and Athens. Scientific Games acquisition of NYX Gaming Group announced in September last year and following formation of SG Digital created a worldwide leader in the online gaming and sports market.
Due to the significant growth experienced across the SG Digital division, along with the potential to enter the U.S. Market, the growing hub is a reflection of the continued investment by SG Digital in world-class talent, according to the news release.
