The Oklahoma panhandle will soon have a high quality entertainment center and casino just outside of Guymon – Golden Mesa Casino. The 60,000 square foot facility, with construction expected to begin in late 2016, will sit on a little more than 100 acres of land on the south side of Highway 54, about 2 1/2 miles to the southwest of town.
In addition to a casino floor holding 600 gaming machines and 8 blackjack tables, the property will host a restaurant and bar. The core center has been designed for the possibility of future expansion.
The location in the heart of the Oklahoma panhandle is a sensible destination point for visitors from within the state, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico and Colorado. The area currently lacks a tourism focal point such as the planned casino and entertainment center and is expected to create about 175 jobs with a payroll of $3.7 million annually.
