The Shorelines Casino project of Belleville is taking shape with officials anticipating an early opening in 2017. With the construction going smoothly, the facility must now begin to focus on hiring employees for many positions within the casino operations.
Great Canadian Gaming is the parent company behind Shorelines and an executive of the company, Chuck Keeling, stated that a top priority beyond the construction phase will be staffing the casino with as many as 300 full and part time employees. Keeling stated that it looks as though the number of employees needed is closer to 300, according to a report by the Intelligencer.
A group of experienced individuals will be brought in to train and fill the senior roles within the facility to prepare the casino to be fully operational. The majority of the open positions will be given to individuals who live in the area, with many different job types available.
To be able to hire individuals for the positions, Shorelines will be using online options as well as a job fair plus scouting for talent. As the opening date approaches, more information on employment will be released.
Concept drawings and initial information provided by Great Canadian on the project shows 48,000 square feet of space with 700 individuals able to be on the gaming floor, with 400 slot machines, table games reaching 20 to 22 in number as well as a VIP gaming section.
