iGaming Business – Spanish regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) has reported a drop in online gaming revenue during the second quarter of 2014.

The regulatory body reported gross gaming revenue of €59.2 million ($74.7 million) for the three months through to the end of June, a 13% fall from €67.9 million in the first quarter. The figure was however, 6.7% higher than the corresponding quarter of 2013.

Spanish punters wagered a total of €1.57 billion, a 1% drop on €1.6 billion in the first quarter.

The DGOJ noted that advertising on betting-related advertising, sponsorship and promotion campaigns increased by nearly 40% on a quarter-to-quarter basis to €23 million.
