Station Casinos, the Las Vegas-based gaming company, plans to open a new Wildfire Casino at the east Fremont location in early February. The brand will have an updated look and feel to welcome customers to the facility after it becomes operative in the attractive Las Vegas downtown area in February.
Signs of progress:
Wildfire Casino is among the 17 casinos owned by Station Casinos, the giant that started its operations in 1976 to gradually grow ever since to currently employ around 1,200 people and achieve over $1 billion in revenue a year. The Wildfire Casino is one of seven Wildfire-branded casino locations. The east Fremont facility is currently under construction and rapidly changing its appearance as the project completion deadline is getting closer.
Therefore the sign featuring new branding, hung at the east Fremont construction site on Tuesday, is another witness of the constant progress of the Wildfire Casino project.
Fremont location’s new comforts:
A typical Wildfire Casino includes around 150 slot machines, a restaurant, and other hotel facilities rendering extraordinary recreational and gaming experiences. However, the company reported that the Fremont location will be updated with “new creature comforts” to include 200 slot machines, bar-top and electronic table games, a full-service STN Sportsbook, 16 TVs around the bar, an IHOP and local Mexican restaurant Tacos El Pastor.
Joel Hampe, general manager and vice president of Wildfire Gaming, explained: “The brand has been idle for a little while with the look and feel and we wanted to give the guests a new, elevated experience from what they were used to.” Hampe added that the company will be able to offer such an experience as food partners recognizing the brand got involved in the project, while the users of the Station Casinos Boarding Pass loyalty program will simultaneously enjoy all the benefits of the program.
Improving neighborhood:
The Wildfire Casino construction will spread over some 21,000 square feet. Station Casinos already made all the required real-estate exchanges and purchases together with demolition work for old buildings to make room for the casino project. In the process, the company also sold the former Castaways site owned since 2004 to developers who built a huge apartment complex. In this way, Station closed the financial construction required for the new building and made the Wildfire layout fit in with the neighborhood in its location at 2700 Fremont Street.
“Station has had the land for quite some time,” Hampe said. “We continually evaluate what we have going on, where we’re building and where our plans are going to go. With the apartments being built and all the businesses that are increasing over there, we thought it was a good time that we wanted to join in and continue to make those improvements to that neighborhood.”
The company plans to hire about 45 people for full and part-time positions in Wildfire Casino in December to be completely ready to welcome customers immediately after the early February 2023 launch.
