In the United Kingdom, online casino and sportsbetting operator Tempobet has renewed its shirt sponsorship deal with English Championship football club Burton Albion for another year.
Tempobet offers live sportsbetting services as well as online casino, binary option, lottery and virtual games and the initial one-year sponsorship deal it signed with the Staffordshire team at the beginning of last season represented the largest in the club’s 67-year history.
As part of the renewed agreement, Tempobet will continue to have its logo emblazoned on the team’s home, away and training shirts while also advertising extensively throughout Burton Albion’s 6,900-seat Pirelli Stadium.
“We are excited about renewing our sponsorship with Burton Albion, showing that our working relationship continues to go from strength to strength,” read a statement from Tim Peters, Chief Executive Officer for Tempobet, which counts former Real Madrid star and 2002 FIFA World Cup winner Roberto Carlos as one of its brand ambassadors. “It was a season to remember last time with some terrific battling performances and we were really happy to have been part of the journey.”
Established in 1950, Burton Albion unexpectedly secured second place in the English Football League One division at the conclusion of the 2015/16 season to earn a spot in the second-tier English Championship for the first time. Although the side managed by former Derby County and Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough was widely tipped to be immediately relegated, it confounded the pundits to finish the 2016/17 campaign in 20th position and survive.
The underdog team’s second season in the English Championship is expected to be just as tough and much of its success could depend on the performance of 26-year-old Northern Ireland international striker Liam Boyce, who recently became Burton Albion’s record signing after transferring from Scottish top-flight side Ross County in a deal rumored to be worth approximately $633,300.
“We are delighted to continue our successful partnership with Tempobet, read a statement from Fleur Robinson, Commercial Director for Burton Albion. “The English Championship is a high-profile league and having an international company such as Tempobet as our main shirt sponsor for a second season demonstrates that. I’m now looking forward to working with it over the course of the 2017/18 season and continuing our successful journey together.”
