On Friday, April 7th, 2023 the Tennessee Titans and their defensive lineman, Jeffery Simmons, have agreed upon terms to a 4 – year contract extension worth up to approximately $94 million. This was a strong move by the front office of the Tennessee Titans franchise as they heavily depend upon a solid defensive and running the ball in order to win their football games.

The 4 – year contract extension Simmons signed with the Tennessee Titans is valued at around $94 million, has $66 million in total guaranteed money, and the new deal includes a $24 million signing bonus as well. Simmons will now earn an average of $23.5 million. Jeffery is currently scheduled to once again become an unrestricted free agent in the National Football League in the year of 2028.

The deal provides long – term security for Simmons, who had been set to play on the fifth – year option at $10.75 million. The Tennessee Titans general manager, Ran Carthon, was sure to make signing Simmons to the contract extension a major priority when Jeffery landed in Tennessee to play for Titans back in January of 2023.
Simmons recorded a total of 7.5 – sacks throughout the 2022 – 2023 NFL season even though he was forced to play the final eight games last year with a nagging ankle injury. The now 25 – year – old made it to his 2nd – NFL Pro Bowl the past season. Jeffery is a 2 – time second – team NFL All – Pro at this point in his career as well.
The Tennessee Titans decided to take Simmons with the overall number 19 selection during the 2019 NFL Draft. Jeffery has compiled 21 – sacks, 28 – tackles for a loss, and 46 – quarterback hits over the course of Simmons’ 4 – seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
