The exciting and interesting 2023 Major League Baseball playoffs are here and they are in full swing now following an MLB regular season full of surprises. The 2023 MLB postseason is our 2nd – look at the big – league’s new 12 – team format, which includes an additional wild – card spot in both the American League and National League. All of the fun began with a jam – packed MLB playoff wild card schedule which ultimately featured 8 – teams competing in 4 – wild – series that were displayed on ESPN earlier on in October.
The 2023 American League playoff picture saw a shake – up on the last day of the 2023 MLB regular season, as the Texas Rangers fell from atop the American League West to the number 5 seed. The 6th – seeded Toronto Blue Jaystraveled to face the American League Central champion Minnesota Twins, and the Texas Rangers visited the Tampa Bay Rays in the wild – card round.
Originally the winner between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Minnesota Twins wild – card series was the Twins and then Minnesota took on the reigning World Series champion Houston Astros in the ALDS, and the Texas Rangers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays so the Texas Rangers had to face off against the 1 – seeded Baltimore Orioles who they surprisingly beat as well putting the Texas Rangers in the ALCS for the first time in quite a while.
In the National League, the Arizona Diamondbacks traveled to Milwaukee and easily defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, putting the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLDS with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Finally, the Philadelphia Phillies hosted the Miami Marlins who made their 1st – MLB playoff appearance in a full 162 – game regular season since they won the World Series back in 2003.
The winner of that series was the Philadelphia Phillies who then had the tough task of beating the National League top – seeded Atlanta Braves who many people had ultimately picked to get to another MLB World Series this year, but we all know now that the Philadelphia Phillies were too much for the Atlanta Braves to handle in the playoffs once again.
From the first pitch of the 2023 Major League Baseball wild – card games to the last out of the World Series, I have got you covered with the postseason scores, schedules, results, analysis, and predictions including how to watch every 2023 MLB postseason game this October and into early November of this year.

Originally, I thought that the Houston Astros would win the ALCS, and they would defend last year’s 2022 Major League Baseball championship title in the 2023 World Series vs. the winner of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Arizona Diamondbacks, but boy was I mistaken.
After the first two games of this in – state rivalry American League Championship Series the Texas Rangers have dominated taking a 2 to 0 lead in this 2023 ALCS, and in fact the Texas Rangers are yet to lose a game during the 2023 MLB postseason. This leads me to believe that the Texas Rangers will defeat the Houston Astros in this heated series, and they will move on to face the National League pennant winner in the 2023 MLB World Series.

Just like last season the Philadelphia Phillies continue to exert their MLB playoff dominance over anyone that crosses their path. They are crushing home run after home run while not giving up very much on the other side of the scoreboard. I have complete faith that the Philadelphia Phillies will defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 NLCS placing them in the World Series for the second year in a row.
I wish that both the American League as well as the National League Championship Series were more competitive, but I don’t see either the Texas Rangers nor the Philadelphia Phillies blowing their big leads in their respective series.
