American casino operator Wynn Resorts Limited has announced that the next instalment of The Match exhibition golf event is set to take place on June 1 from the Wynn Golf Club located next door to its Wynn Las Vegas property.
The Las Vegas-headquartered firm used an official Monday press release to detail that this year’s instalment of the celebrity golf challenge being sponsored by Capital One is to be broadcast by Turner Sports and will feature National Football League (NFL) quarterbacks Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
Tough test:
Wynn Resorts Limited explained that the upcoming The Match extravaganza will involve Brady and Rogers teaming up to compete against Mahomes and Allen in a twelve-hole shootout at the 6,722-yard Wynn Golf Club. The operator disclosed that the quartet of American football superstars have together amassed 86 post-season runouts alongside 30 Pro Bowl appearances and nine Super Bowl rings.
Celebrated competitors:
Super Bowl XLV champion Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers won last year’s edition of The Match after partnering with professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau to defeat a duo consisting of Brady and 2021 PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson. This will be the third consecutive time that the latter gridiron star has featured in this event as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers player similarly lost the 2020 version of the challenge to a team consisting of Tiger Woods and former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.
Rookie route:
For their parts and Mahomes and Allen from the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills respectively are hoping that their inaugural appearances in The Team challenge will result in success. Together this duo is set to be 31 years younger than their opposing team although it remains to be seen whether youth or experience will prevail in this upcoming southern Nevada golf extravaganza.

Wynn Resorts Limited declared that Turner Sports has broadcast five editions of its The Match event with the Las Vegas golf challenge moreover ‘serving as a platform to support various philanthropical organizations’. It boasted that the contest, with which Capital One has been involved since the start, has so far raised almost $33 million for a range of organizations while donating nearly 17 million meals to the Feeding America food bank charity.
