The West Valley Resort is a property that is under construction in the Glendale suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. The facility will offer casino gaming and hotel accommodations and is scheduled to open this December. The new casino is owned and will be operated by the Tohono O’odham Nation, who recently held a job fair to employ individuals at the new venue.
Over 3,000 people attended the job fair at the Phoenix Airport Marriott Hotel in the hopes of earning a permanent position. The two day job fair boasted that positions would include vacation benefits of five weeks paid leave.
The West Valley Casino will be hiring as many as 500 people for the venue which includes a gaming space of 220,000 square feet, a full-service spa and 400 room hotel. The property will also include a convention space with 100,000 square feet.
The controversial casino project has not been without opposition from officials of the state. The facility will only be allowed to provide Class II gaming as a resolution of a lawsuit in the matter of classification is currently pending in federal court.
