On Friday, Foxwoods Resort Casino reported slot revenue of $40.7 million for April 2016, an increase of 5 percent over the same time last year’s reported $38.7 million. April’s total revenue was $496.3 million, an increase of 2.1 percent from last year April’s ante of $486.1 million, according to a Business Wire report.

The April 2016 contribution by Foxwoods to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund is $10.4 million, which brings the cumulative contribution to over $3.8 billion since North America’s largest resort casino opened in 1992.

April was an eventful month for the casino, which is owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. And Foxwoods’ launch of the redesigned social casino platform, FoxwoodsONLINE, highlighted the month. Four rock concerts anchored the month’s entertainment slate at Foxwoods, as well as star-studded comedy acts, and hip-hop shows. The excitement continued with Kids Weeks, which featured a wide variety of family-friendly activities such as face painting, games, movies, and an appearance by Clifford the Big Red Dog at the Fox Theater.

The action didn’t end in April either, as this month Foxwoods introduces its first-ever Foxwoods Reality TV Month. It features VIP appearances, photo opportunities, and meet-and-greets, with some of the hottest stars in television. And later this month, 3 Doors Down, the Grammy-nominated rock band is scheduled to take the stage. Closing May out with a bang, international comedy icon Louis C.K’s limited national tour will make its only New England stop at Foxwoods.

The return of summer also means Liquid Sundays at the Fox Tower Pool returns, and guest host Christina Milian will kick off 2016’s first bash on Memorial Day weekend. Liquid Sundays is the only outdoor Vegas-style pool party in the Northeast and comes complete with, celebrity guests, theme parties, some of regions hottest DJ’s, full service bar and more.
