One of the largest UK bookmakers, BetFred, has signed a sponsorship agreement with the English Championship club Bolton Wanderers to have its name on the team’s shirts during the next two seasons, an official announcement from the club reveals. The deal, which will last during the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons, will also give the bookmaker branding rights for Wanderers’ Macron Stadium in Bolton.
Ken Anderson, Chairman of the club said that they were excited to be welcoming BetFred as their official sponsor and another addition to their expanding portfolio of “high-profile” partners. He added that BetFred, despite being one of the leading betting providers across the entire UK, have never forsaken their North West “roots” and that the team is looking forward to their mutual cooperation during the course of the deal.
This isn’t the first time BetFred will be sponsoring the team, as the bookmaker had a previous partnership with the Wanderers a few years ago. Fred Done, the co-owner of BetFred and one half of its founding duo, said that he was happy to be back at the Macron Stadium and renew BetFred’s ties with the Bolton Wanderers at a time when the team was promoted to the Championship, as he “senses” they are once again on the brink of “exciting times.” He added that the club has shown a real initiative to cooperate with the sportsbetting giant and that he was impressed at the manner in which the deal was finalized.
Apart from becoming a sponsor to the club, BetFred also announced that they will become an “Official Financial Trading Partner” of the Wanderers, a partnership that will see BetFred’s new Forex trading company TradeFred also promoted.
