Non-executive director of Jackpotjoy plc (LSE:JPJ), Jörgen Nordlund, has resigned from his post at the online bingo and casino operator.

The move by Nordlund comes just one year after accepting the position at Jackpotjoy and months after the UK-based company’s successful listing on the London Stock Exchange. Nordlund’s resignation also terminates all other consultancy arrangements and directorships with the Jackpotjoy group.

Nordlund is the co-founder of the online casino operator Vera& John, a subsidiary of Jackpotjoy plc, as are The Intertain Group, Fifty States Limited, Intertain Bahamas Limited and WagerLogic Malta Holdings Ltd. In 2014, Vera&John was sold to Jackpotjoy for €81m.

In a statement, Jackpotjoy plc Chairman Neil Goulden, said: “As co-founder of Vera&John, Jörgen has played a significant role in the creation of Jackpotjoy group. On behalf of the Board, I would like to express our thanks to him both for his contribution to the business over the previous three years and in particular, to our successful listing in London.”

According to the press release, within the coming months, Jackpotjoy expects to announce a replacement for the UK-based independent non-executive director position.
