After promoting Louise Nylen to the post of Deputy Chief Executive Officer in July and subsequently scrapping her previous Chief Marketing Officer position, Swedish online casino operator, LeoVegas AB has now announced the hiring of Irena Busic to serve as its new Communications Director.

Overarching responsibilities:

The Stockholm-based firm used an official Monday press release to detail that Busic most recently served as Head of Global Public Relations and Communications for global learning provider Hyper Island but will now be responsible for all of its own internal and external public relations and communications campaigns.

Wide-ranging experience:

LeoVegas stated that Busic also has relevant experience courtesy of a four-year spell in China where she worked as the Managing Director for the Swedish Chamber of Commerce after serving as Head of Communications for paper manufacturing firm, Stora Enso.

“LeoVegas AB is in an interesting stage right now. The much-needed upcoming regulation of the gaming market here in Sweden will lead to better transparency and a bigger need for communication. On a personal note, I also like the company’s focus on technology.”

Hire to become ‘an important asset’:

Gustaf Hagman, Chief Executive Officer for LeoVegas, declared that Busic is destined to become ‘an important asset’ due to her ‘broad experience’ as his firm attempts to ‘tell our story and who we are’ while moreover endeavoring to ‘change the perception to the industry.’

Co-Marketing Director positions:

Responsible for the online casino and sportsbetting brands such as RoyalPanda.com, SlotBoss.co.uk, BetUK.com, LeoVegas.com, Bingos.co.uk and 21.co.uk, LeoVegas has additionally revealed the hiring of Claes Af Buren and Petra Blixt to serve as its new Malta-based Co-Marketing Directors.

The operator explained that Blixt was previously employed as its Head of Acquisitions and had ‘successfully built up and structured’ the organization of its online customer acquisition and affiliation campaigns. Moving forward, it detailed that she is to continue to handle all of its online marketing activities while furthermore concentrating on markets for which these actions have been created.

The company detailed that Af Buren was until recently the Chief Executive Officer for Stockholm-headquartered advertising firm DamnGoodAgency and has some 14 years of experience in brand building courtesy of spells with various other communications agencies.
