Leading international B2B and white label gaming software and services provider, Nektan plc (AIM: NKTN), announced today that it has entered into a partnership with Metric Gaming, an independent developer and provider of live mobile sports betting software and support services, that will see it deliver the B2B sportsbook platform’s betting content to the U.S. market.

Under the terms of the deal, Metric Gaming LLC and Respin LLC (“Respin”), the respective U.S. operating subsidiaries of Metric and Nektan, will offer top quality sports betting and horse racing services by way of Respin’s Rapid Games™ platform. The latter is reportedly the sole independently certified Class II (Protected Tribal Gaming Category) and Class III On-Premises Bring Your Own Device (“BYOD”) mobile platform, in the U.S. casino gaming industry.

In March last year, Rapid Games announced that its U.S. operating subsidiary of Nektan PLC, Respin LLC, would be launching is Rapid Games in-venue mobile games solution into a major California casino by a by a Tier-1 US casino operator.

Commenting on the fresh deal via press release, Interim Chief Executive Officer for Nektan, Gary Shaw, said that with the May 14, 2018, Supreme Court ruling, the melding of Nektan’s Rapid Games Mobile Casino and Metric’s leading sports and race products, creates a major opportunity for the two companies working as partners. “The sector will look to a combination of sports and casino and having a partner combining both will create additional opportunities for both companies,” explained Shaw.

For its part, Metric Chief Executive Officer, Martin de Knijff, said that the Supreme Court’s overturning of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA), which prohibited states from authorizing sports gambling, “signals a sea change in the U.S. We are impressed by the Rapid Games™ platform, and believe that its multi-device approach gives our state-of-the-art horse racing and sports betting counterparts a price and functionality advantage over legacy based competitors in both the retail and iGaming spaces.”

Earlier this month, the Gibraltar-headquartered Nektan announced two key senior appointments in Michael Byrne, who was hired to lead its ‘white-label’ enterprises and Jane Ryan, who was promoted to Chief Operating Officer for the firm’s business-to-business unit.
