After launching keno in May, the Pennsylvania Lottery has now further expanded its offerings by premiering a pair of virtual sports games that give players the chance to win up to $250 in cash for correctly predicting the outcome of random computerized draws.
Xpress pair now live:
According to an official Wednesday press release from the Pennsylvania Lottery, draws for the new Xpress Football and Xpress Car Racing titles take place every five minutes and can be viewed in real-time on big-screen television screens at more than 1,500 locations across the state.
Titles embrace football and car racing:
Established in 1972, the Pennsylvania Lottery explained that Xpress Football sees players attempt to predict the outcome of a drive from the 20-yard line in a virtual game of American football. After paying their $1 entrance fee, aficionados over the age of 18 are invited to select from one of 16 possible scenarios that include a touchdown run and a scoring pass as well as a field goal and a turnover.
The Pennsylvania Lottery detailed that the new Xpress Car Racing title is similar in that it asks punters to predict the top three finishers in a contest taking place at a virtual racetrack. Just like Xpress Football, players can enjoy up to 20 consecutive races where they are asked to forecast the exact order of the first, second and third-place runners.
Games expected to be a ‘big hit’:
Drew Svitko, Executive Director for the Pennsylvania Lottery, stated that he expects the Xpress Football and Xpress Car Racing titles to build on the ‘strong start’ seen by keno and to ‘be a big hit with our players.’
Svitko’s statement read…
“These games are part of our continuing mission to modernize our business and generate new funds to benefit older Pennsylvanians. We’re continuing to add new monitors at stores, bars, clubs and restaurants. If you don’t see these games offered at your favorite stop or hang-out, encourage the business to apply to become a Pennsylvania Lottery retailer.”
