Live! Hotel and Casino was awarded the second license in the state by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. the casino is to be built in Philadelphia. However, the decision has caused issues and other casino companies would like to appeal the decision made by the gaming control board.
A motion by SugarHouse Casino was denied; however, the gaming board now has to allow an open filing for appeals with the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. All appeals must be in by May 4th. This includes appeals by SugarHouse HSP Gaming LP, Market East Associates LP, and PHL Local Gaming LLC. These three companies are hoping the board’s decision will be overturned. At this point regulators will have 30 days from May 4th to respond, but no oral arguments are set.
