Suncity Group is an investor of Macau VIP junket rooms that recently announced their unit Poker King Club will be launching a new poker series starting this September. The new series will be titled the Suncity Cup and will feature a guaranteed prize pool of HKD8-million, which is equal to $1 million US dollars. The Suncity Cup will have several stops during its inaugural run including events in the Philippines, South Korea and in Macau.

According to ggrasia.com, the new series will be sponsored by the Suncity Group and will include a main event with a buy-in of HKD6,000. The first stop of the Suncity Cup will take place in Jeju, a holiday island located in South Korea. Poker tournaments will run from September 24th to the 30th with several events listed on Day 1 of the schedule. The Maison Glad Hotel Jeju is home to a room operated by the Poker King Club.

For the second set of Day 1 Events for the series, the Solaire Resort & Casino Manila will play host to the Suncity Cup at the Poker King Club Manila from October 13th to the 16th. In November, the series returns again to South Korean in Busan from the 13th to the 18th.

The final stage of the Suncity Cup will see a series of Day 1 events take place along with the finals at the Venetian Macao’s Poker King Club Macau. The action will take place from November 23rd to the 2nd of December.

In a press release, Poker King Club Chief Executive Winfred Yu stated that the Poker King Club is excited to announce the launch of the Suncity Cup and this will be the largest series of events ever hosted by the club. The Poker King Club looks forward to attracting existing players to the events as well as growing the game in new markets with the new series as they travel throughout Asia.
