Changes have been made to the online tournament schedule at PokerStars, providing players with modified gaming options as well as new tournament events. Luke Staudenmaier, the PokerStars Tournaments Team Manager, took to the PokerStars blog to announce the changes, which went into effect on October 23rd.
According to the blog post, the new schedule for tournament gaming was created with assistance from the Players Advisory Council. The changes will see new events added to the tournament schedule as well as existing tournaments being modified. The Sunday Big tournaments are now called Bigger while the Hot tournaments are titled Hotter. These tournaments, along with Bounty Builders, will now offer online poker players re-entries, which they did not do before.
The Players Advisory Council concluded that the tournament schedule should have more higher-stakes major tournaments. With this advice, PokerStars decided to add a high roller event to the Sunday schedule as well as a daily high roller event. On Sundays, players can log in 13:30 ET and pay $2,100 to compete while the daily tournament kicks off at 15:00 ET and will have a buy-in of $530.
The Super-Sized Sunday tournament now has a buy-in of $530 instead of $700 and is now a bounty tournament. The event is also on offer via the daily schedule. According to the blog, if these changes are successful, even more changes could come to the high stakes schedule.
Players who enjoy Omaha will find that the Omania schedule has been changed as well. The Saturday Special Omania tournament events will now take place on Sundays and will be known as Weekend Special Omania events.
