Earlier this year, PokerStars had to cancel the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) main events due to a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. To make it up to players, the online poker room has planned a WCOOP Championship Series in November. Players will be able to compete in a new schedule with different events and prize pool guarantees.
Players will find the online poker site offering satellites and freerolls so they are able to qualify for the big events. With so many options, players can earn a seat for free or at a low cost, much lower than the event buy-in. The NLH Main Events will run November 6-9 and the PLO Main Events are scheduled for November 6-8.
Qualify for the WCOOP Main Event Low for Free
The WCOOP has several Main Events including the low option. This version has a $109 buy-in, but PokerStars is offering freerolls to the event. Players can compete in direct satellites too and rebuy for $0.11 as needed. This is a great way to earn a spot at the event. Players are competing for a whopping $3 million in prize money.
The Medium and High versions also have satellite options. The Medium event has a buy-in of $1,050, while the High event has a $10,300 buy-in. Players can compete in step satellites at the online poker room starting at just $2.20.
Direct buy-ins to the Medium event for satellites range from $22 to $109 if you want to avoid the steps process. The High version has satellites ranging from $215 to $530.
Fast Track to the $10,300 Main Event
Players who want a shot at the big event, which boasts a $7 million guarantee, have a fast-track option. Skip the first two steps in the satellite process and go into the third or fourth qualifying rounds via Fast Track Satellites.
Round Three has a buy-in of $109 and Round Four costs $1,050. Of course, the third round is the cheapest and will most likely be a top pick of players. The Round Three events are scheduled daily, and winners move on to Round Four. Two seats to main event are guaranteed daily from there.
On top of that, PokerStars is providing its members with Mega Satellites and Phase Satellites. Two Mega Satellites run each day and offer a $215 buy-in. One seat to the Main Event is guaranteed per event except on Sunday, when two seats are added to the first qualifier.
With Phase Satellites, players can compete for $2.20 and move on from Phase 1 to Phase 2 where 50 $215 Mega Satellite seats are provided.
