Following the April 28 resolution of the Kansas Senate and House of Representatives that allowed Prairie Band Casino & Resort to offer sports betting, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation recently voted to approve the respective Tribal-State Gaming Compact and establish a sports wagering facility in the resort, according to Indian Gaming.

Prairie Band Casino & Resort:

Fully owned and operated by the Prairie Band of Potawatomi Nation, the Prairie Band Casino & Resort is located in Mayetta, Kansas. Spread over 35,000 square feet, the property includes more than 1,200 slot machines, more than 30 table games, and a 400-seat state-of-the-art bingo hall. After the legislators’ resolution SR 1725 was approved to govern the sports wagering in the tribal resort, the Potawatomi Nation has got the opportunity to launch another gambling operation soon.

Sports Betting Amenity:

Bill Marsh, General Manager  of the Prairie Band Casino & Resort, reportedly said: “We are pleased to provide yet another amenity for our guests to ‘Play Your Way’ while visiting our property. As a result of our extensive research, we’ve found there is a place for Prairie Band Sportsbook in the sports betting market.”

Q4 2023 Launch:

As Indian Gaming reports, Chris Garrow, Director of Gaming of the Prairies Band Casino & Resort, said: “We are partnering with the world’s leading odds provider and others to give our guests the finest sports betting experience. Regarding timing, we are working toward a Q4 launch.”

Attractive Prize Pools:

Garrow reviewed the casino’s performance and pointed out an attractive prize pool for the guests and other advantages of the venue. He reportedly said:We have been doing free-to-play pick’em challenges for some time, and the results have been extremely positive. We’ve offered our guests and team members free jackpot pick’em challenges for the Big Game and the NCAA basketball tournament, with potential prizes ranging from $100,000 up to $1,000,000.”

Garrow also gave some projections about the procedures in the casino once the sportsbook is added to the gaming floor: ”The casino will have kiosks throughout the gaming floor and sportsbook. Guests who place wagers and use their player’s cards to make wagers will receive rewards in the same way they receive rewards when playing slots, table games, and bingo.”

Comprehensive Offer:

Prairie Band Casino & Resort has been operating since 1998. It was first managed by the Harrah’s Entertainment under the agreement with the Potawatomi Nation. The contract ended in 2007 and the tribe took over the operations to manage the property ever since. A wide array of amenities available on the tribal land located only 15 minutes north of Topeca will soon include the land-based sportsbook for the Prairie Band Casino & Resort to offer a comprehensive and unique gaming experience.
