The new Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D’Iberville will establish a novel Mississippi Gulf Coast tradition on New Year’s Eve this year with “The Raising of the Pearl”. Rather than dropping something from a great height, as is the more common festive tradition to mark the end of one year and beginning of a new one, Scarlet Pearl will raise a tremendous illuminated pearl outside their hotel, reaching the top at midnight. At the stroke of the new year “noiseless fireworks”, sparklers, and a lights display will welcome the change from 2015 to 2016.

The fun will actually begin at noon inside the casino when hundreds of balloons will fall to the gaming floor. Inside the balloons revelers will find a variety of promotional certificates including free play coupons.

Scarlet Pearl Casino opened Wednesday, December 9th. The property features a state-of-the-art casino with over 60,000 square feet of gaming space hosting 1,350 slots and video poker machines along with 45 table games including Blackjack, Craps and Roulette, and a 10 table Poker Room. The hotel offers 300 guestrooms and suites, including 10 Penthouses.  Scarlet Pearl is located just across the Back Bay from Biloxi.
