Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) announced Tuesday that Doug Albregts (pictured), former Chief Executive Officer and President of Sharp Electronics Corporation, will be joining the Las Vegas-based company as the EVP and Group CEO of the Gaming Division.

Fifty-year-old Albregts served as CEO and president of Sharp Electronics Corporation since October 13, 2016, where he was reportedly tasked with leading the $6 billion Americas operating unit encompassing consumer products, display devices, home appliances, business/office products, energy storage and the management of upwards of 2,000 employees, according to the press release (pdf).

Additionally, Albregts served as the President and CEO of Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) and has also held top-level management positions where the focus was on the growth of multinational digital firms such as NEC, American Express and Samsung.

In his new role at Scientific Games Corporation, Albregts will reportedly oversee the company’s product development and production, as well as supply chain and sales of the firm’s Gaming services, systems and products.

Effective June 4, 2018, Mike Marusic replaces Albregts as President and CEO of SIICA. Albregts replaces Derick Mooberry, who will reportedly remain at Scientific Games as EVP for Strategic Products.

Cottle also acknowledged Derik Mooberry for his service and said the company looks forward to continuing working with him.
