Having recently agreed a supply deal with Hungary’s Szerencsejatek Zrt, Las Vegas-based Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) announced on Friday the successful launch of an omni-channel sports betting system for the Swiss lottery company which serves the Italian and German-speaking regions of Switzerland, Swisslos.

Scientific Games, which has reportedly supplied the Lottery with a fixed odds sports betting system for some 15 years, provided the innovative solution after securing the fresh contract to put in place the new system with improved wagering capabilities for Swisslos’ sports product.

Swisslos Director, Dr. Roger Fasnacht, said, “We have been working on the attractiveness of our main sports product for quite some time and are delighted to successfully complete the project with the launch of a new sports betting platform from our trusted technology provider, Scientific Games,” according to the news release.

Founded in 1937, the Basel headquartered company has offered instant games, lottery numbers games and sports bets to players in Switzerland for over 80 years. Swisslos has additionally offered, on a contractual basis, the same to payers in the Principality of Liechtenstein since 1968. The entirety of Swisslos net profit is reportedly transferred by the company to the member states of the Swiss Confederation.

Instant games, retailer terminals and gaming systems technology have been provided by Scientific Games to Swisslos for over two decades. The provider of gambling products and services to lottery and gambling organizations worldwide was recently awarded a new contract to replace the Lottery’s current gaming system with its AEGIS® technology in 2018-19.
