After debuting the light-hearted original in 2018, Yggdrasil Gaming has brought back its animated Moai statues in Easter Island 2, only this time the mischievous duo are on holiday in sunny California.
What better place for a fun-filled vacation than at trendy Venice Beach, where sand, sun, and surf surround the fun-loving duo and their goofy bird sidekick and a laid-back soundtrack make it easy for players to chill. Just don’t get too relaxed though, as the entertaining sequel gets a slight volatility boost going from low to medium while RTP registers at 96 percent.
“Easter Island™ 2 will see players enjoying every step with our favourite characters from a classic and well-loved Yggdrasil title.”
Game features:
Situated prominently on the beach buzzing with activity, the 6-reel, 4-row game, where the two giant stone statues have positioned themselves in the sand, offers a huge betting range, a ton of symbols, and exciting features that can lead to wins as high as x2500 and €750,000! And where the reels comprise nine regular pay symbols, with card suits spades, clubs, diamonds, hearts, along with a handful of unique high pays. The Wild is the only other symbol and it only makes an appearance when replacing pays to complete wins.
Players can boost the level of excitement in this West Coast adventure when they land six of the same symbols, which triggers expanding reels and the game board blows up to a 6×8 matrix and goes from 25 to a possible 55 paylines for the winning respin.
Winning potential:
Any winning combination triggers a Symbol Swap Respin, where the winning symbol takes the place of all low-paying equivalents and also increases win potential throughout respins. A Colossal Symbol is awarded to wins of four, five, or six in a row, with the bigger the wins the larger the symbol. Additionally, a wild Colossal Symbol can land on any spin and lead to massive cash prizes.
Easter Island 2 maintains all the adorable characters and symbols familiar to players from the original smash hit released almost exactly three years prior while tweaking the theme and feature set, ramping up the level of play in the video slot.
User experience focused:
Commenting on the new release in a company presser, Chief Gaming and Development Officer for Yggdrasil, Asko Heiskanen said…
“The mischievous Moai are back and full of action. Every win triggers a respin which can lead to exceptional rewards. Watch out for a six-of-a-kind win which will trigger expanding reels. They’ll boom to a sky-high 8×6 matrix with 55 paylines which means not only more, but bigger wins.
Heiskanen explained that past all of the excinting features, the layout of the game has been designed with players “completely in mind,” and in keeping with their understanding of players’ “mobile-first, portrait preference,” they have built the games’ user experience (UX) totally around them.
Expanding slots portfolio:
This second iteration of Easter Island joins the Cherry AB subsidiary’s previously released hits such as Hades Gigablox and the popular Vikings series, and Multifly in Yggdrasil’s growing portfolio of premium games.
Easter Island 2 follows the launch of another hit, Desperate Dawgs, which was developed in partnership with UK studio Reflex Gaming and features three pedigreed pooches that are up to no good in Doge City. The Western-themed slot includes plenty of exciting features and offers wins up to x3902 and €390,200! The 5×3 video slot is the most recent title to launch in partnership with the British independent manufacturer and game developer after the company became the latest YG Masters studio partner to license Yggdrasil’s Gigablox mechanic.
It’s safe to say that Yggdrasil’s next new launch will be of the same caliber, so be sure to stay tuned!
