eCOGRA, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services for the online gambling sector, has achieved significant milestones with regulatory approvals in Arizona, Indiana, and Panama. These expansions bolster the company’s ability to deliver its high-quality compliance services across the United States and Latin America, aligning with the rapid growth of the global iGaming market.
eCOGRA’s recent approvals allow the organization to perform independent compliance audits and certification services tailored to the distinct requirements of each jurisdiction. In Arizona, eCOGRA has been licensed as an Event Wagering Ancillary Supplier, enabling its International Testing Laboratory (ITL) to evaluate event-wagering licensees under the state’s expanding regulations.
In Indiana, which introduced online sports betting in 2019, eCOGRA is now authorized to conduct regulatory audits, providing essential compliance assurances to licensed operators. Meanwhile, in Panama, the country’s Board of Gaming Control has officially recognized eCOGRA as an Authorized Entity for Compliance Certification, specifically for gaming software and slot machines, further reinforcing the company’s footprint in Latin America’s emerging iGaming sector.
Leadership Perspective
These advancements underscore eCOGRA’s commitment to supporting its clients’ global growth and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. “Our recent approvals in Indiana, Arizona, and Panama underline our dedication to continually expand our offering, to support our growing portfolio of clients with their global growth plans,” stated Will Shuckburgh, Group CEO of eCOGRA.
Chief Technology Officer Bradley Khoury highlighted the technical rigor required to secure these approvals, emphasizing the company’s mission to uphold the highest industry standards. “Securing licensure as an Event Wagering Ancillary Supplier in Arizona and an Authorized Entity in Panama underscores our dedication to supporting responsible and sustainable iGaming operations,” Khoury added.
Supporting Responsible Gaming
eCOGRA integrates best-in-class responsible gaming solutions into its services, reflecting its commitment to fostering trust and accountability within the industry. Its responsible gaming initiatives include enhanced insights into player behaviors through advanced tools, enabling operators to take early intervention measures when at-risk behaviors are identified.
The company’s reputation as a trusted partner is built on its long-standing expertise and global reach. Founded in 2003, the organization was the first non-American testing laboratory to receive U.S. authorization for testing, inspection, and certification services. Today, it operates in 45 jurisdictions worldwide, including recent authorizations in Peru and Brazil earlier this year.
To further strengthen its presence in the Americas, eCOGRA established a Denver, Colorado office in February 2024 and appointed Daniel Remmes, a compliance specialist with extensive experience at IGT PlaySports and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, as its U.S.-based director of compliance. eCOGRA currently works with some of the biggest names in the iGaming sector, including PartyGaming, bet365, Entain, Betway, Sportradar, and Relax Gaming.
