Wynn is trying to open a new casino in Everett, Massachusetts which is going to cost $1.7 billion. However, Governor Charlie Baker’s administration is not allowing a permit to go through. This permit is necessary to start building the complex. Matthew Beaton, the secretary of energy and environmental affairs, wrote a decision that a recent portion of property was sold to Wynn before a complete environmental review was conducted. This is in violation of the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act, according to reports.
Before the permit will be given to Wynn Everett the company needs to update the construction plan to include the impact noise and traffic will have on the area.
The casino project has been hindered by lawsuits and complaints since winning the highly sought after casino license.
