Early last week, it was announced that the Armenian Government had given approval to a project proposing the Dvin Hotel be repurposed into a resort complex including a casino. The group behind the project is the CCG Caucasian Communication Group Limited, who plan on spending $120.6 million and have the project completed by 2019.

The soviet-era hotel would receive a complete makeover with the company using $35.5 million of their own funds on the project. The hotel will be converted into a resort with clubs, a swimming pool, retail stores, high-class restaurants, conference centers and a fitness area. A VIP casino is also included in the project plans.

Also on the property, a residential complex with multiple functions will be added. Titled the Apartments Plaza, at least 60 luxury apartments will be included. Parking spots are to be created in an underground garage on the property.
