In a move that further enhances its property portfolio, Canadian gaming operator, Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited, has announced the acquisition of Signal Point Gaming located in Williams Lake, British Columbia.
According to a press release…
Effective Friday, March 1, 2019, the day-to-day operations of the slots and bingo facility were assumed by the Burnaby-headquartered gaming and entertainment company. The purchase is just another step in what is one of Canada‘s largest and most diversified gaming and entertainment companies’ strategy for continued growth.
Expanding footprint:
The key acquisition is the next milestone in a strategy that has seen the firm expand its presence and product offering across the North American country. In its quest to create community-centered entertainment gaming properties that feature a variety of culinary and gaming options, the potential of the opportunity in British Columbia’s Central Interior Cariboo region is an exciting one.
The Chances Signal Point acquisition means Gateway currently operates 27 gaming entertainment properties in Ontario, Alberta (Edmonton) and British Columbia, with a total of approximately 8,648 employees.
Significant investments:
Commenting on the latest addition to the company’s property portfolio, Chief Executive Officer for Gateway, Tony Santo, said…
“Everyone at Gateway is very excited to welcome Chances Signal Point and their team to the Gateway family. We look forward to bringing our unique entertainment offerings to Williams Lake.”
Significant investments have been made by Gateway in the communities where the company operates so that they might elevate the customer experience and as such has seen local communities the recipients of hundreds of jobs and economic contribution.
Existing and new developments:
The company that boasts approximately 448 table games (including 49 poker tables), 13,887 slots, 85 restaurants and bars and 561 hotel rooms has growth investments underway in several communities across Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. And it has, since August 2015, completed seven major development projects in Innisfil, Point Edward, Edmonton, Kelowna, Penticton and Kamloops.
The purchase of Chances Casino Kamloops from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and the Hart family of private investors was completed in January 2019.
Gateway further anticipates the opening of a pair of new major developments in Hanover, Ontario and Chatham-Kent. Gateway also plans to break ground on the brand new Cascades Casino to be located in Delta, British Columbia.
Gateway received approval from the Delta City Council to rezone a portion of the property located at 6005 Highway 17A for its $70 million Cascades Casino Delta development in August 2018.
