IGT Global Solutions Corporation has extended its contract by a further 9.5 years to provide the video gaming program of the Louisiana State Police’s Department of Public Safety and Corrections’ (DPS&C) Video Gaming Division with an upgrade of its video gaming monitoring system, according to a recent announcement by parent company, International Game Technology PLC (NYSE: IGT).

According to the July 12 official press release, the extension of the contract commenced on June 30, 2018, for the Louisiana DPS&C, which has been a valued customer of IGT for 13 years.

Commenting on the contract extension, Chief Executive Officer for IGT North America, Renato Ascoli, said, “Over the past 13 years, we have established a strong working relationship and foundation with the Louisiana State Police.”

“With IGT’s INTELLIGEN central system, the Louisiana State Police will be equipped with more advanced tools to ensure that they continue to properly manage their expansive video gaming network and provide their players with an optimal gaming experience,” explained Ascoli.

Under the terms of the extension agreement, DPS&C’s existing central system will be upgraded by IGT to the INTELLIGEN™ central system. The latter will monitor some 13,100 video gaming devices at upwards of 1,700 distributed locations throughout Louisiana.

The most recent deal is on the heels of IGT securing a multi-product systems and games agreement with the recently opened Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City. Via the deal, the Boardwalk casino that opened on June 28 features a significant offering of IGT games such as Fort Knox Video Slots, Wheel of Fortune Video Slots, SPHINX 4D Video Slots and classic fil-favorite THE GOONIES Video Slots.
