Swedish operator, Kindred Group PLC (KINDSDB:Stockholm), has inked a new partnership agreement with Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

According to the official press release…

Under the terms of the agreement, in addition to both online and offline sports betting, the strategic partnership will see Kindred (previously Unibet Group) be able to offer online gaming in the Keystone State for an initial five-year period, with the possibility of extending the collaboration for two more five-year terms.

Unibet brand:

The online casino and sportsbook experience that the Malta-based operator will offer to its customers will be under the Unibet brand, as will a sports betting lounge at the Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment-owned and operated racino in Pennsylvania.

Property offering:

Acquired in November 2005, Pocono facility is located on 400 acres in Plains Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The property features a 238-room hotel with on-site spa and adjacent 20,000-square-foot convention center, along with 82,000 square feet of gaming space, which includes more than 90 table games, 2,300 slot machines and electronic table games, live harness racing, a total of 18 dining options, 4 shops and a variety of nightlife and entertainment venues.

Unique experience:

By bringing together Kindred’s data analysis capacity and digital customer experience with the full destination experience of Mohegan Sun Pocono, it will create a one-of-a-kind and strong offering in the northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions.

U.S. growth:

Following its August 2018 tie-up with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, in New Jersey, Pennsylvania is the second state that the online gambling giant has entered. The new collaboration with Mohegan Sun Pocono is part of the Sliema-headquartered company’s effort to secure regulatory approval in the northeastern U.S. state.

According to the press release, investing in expanding its operations in the United States where a sustainable business model is supported by market conditions is something Kindred Group will continue to do.

In early December 2018, Kindred agreed to sign an addendum to its current contract with leading B2B provider of premium sports betting services, Kambi Group. The addendum giving the online gaming operator access to Kambi’s sports betting platform in New Jersey.
