The case of the missing $100,000 chip continues to go unsolved at the Crown Casino. The casino management had hoped to avoid police involvement but when their own investigation failed to uncover the thief, they reported it to the police. Police believe that the chip was stolen by a staff member because it was inside a cabinet in the counting area – the most secure part of the casino. Although there were signs of a forced entry, after interviewing over 50 employees the police are no closer to solving the case. Unfortunately, security footage failed to provide any further insight. The police believe that this was an isolated incident but reports have said that the casino did upgrade their security cameras because of the brazen theft.
