The largest poker site in the world made the record books during the last weekend in December during it’s Sunday Million poker tournament -twice! The first record was for the most players taking part in an online tournament at the same time with 35,000 players and the second record was for the largest number of people logged in at the same time with a whopping 250,500 players. The previous record was also set by PokerStars with the Sunday Hundred Grand tournament that took place July 29, 2007 that had 20,000 players competing. The competition for the $11 buy-in tournament was fierce this year, taking place on 876 tables and lasted almost 10 hours. With a prize pool of $500,000 to shoot for, it’s easy to understand why there was so much competition. In the end, the top prize was $30,000 but a total of 8,750 players walked away with some kind of payout.
