Bollywood star Poonam Pandey and dance troupes from Thailand and the Ukraine were on hand this weekend to help Sydney-listed Silver Heritage Group Limited celebrate the Grand Opening of its Tiger Palace Resort Bhairahawa venue in Nepal.
According to Inside Asian Gaming, revenue records tumbled on day two of the event as huge crowds joined the owner and operator celebrate what reportedly was the first of two planned opening events. The resort casino which is located about seven miles from the Nepalese border with India will reportedly hold its Resort Grand Opening in April, which CEO Mike Bolsover reportedly said “will include events for the local community and attendance by national and local government officials and dignitaries.”
The milestone event reportedly saw the hotel at the US$52 million venue fully booked as both it and the casino filled quickly by mid-afternoon on Saturday.
Bolsover reportedly said that “the casino Grand Opening was a wonderful success.
“We were overbooked both evenings of the event at the hotel, the international and local performers were well received by gaming and by non-gaming guests and in the casino we achieved several milestones including records for daily and monthly drop and for daily and monthly GGR,” said Bolsover.
Included in Saturday’s festivities, two lucky guests were reportedly the recipients of a total of 750 grams of solid gold which was given away by Tiger Palace during the event.
On September 20, Tiger Palace had a soft-opening for its hotel which was followed by the same for the casino in late December, however, according to the news outlet, Saturday was the first time the hotel has been booked to capacity.
Targeting the Indian market, Silver Heritage will reportedly kick off a major marketing plan throughout India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh where the majority of Tiger Palace Resort Bhairahawa’s customer base originates. Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh’s capital city is about a two-hour car drive from the Nepal border.
