Figures have been released for the month of March when it comes to online casino revenues in Italy. A new record has been set in the industry as the country has seen its highest trading figure to date of €60.6m for the month.
PokerStars was able to hold on to their position as the top online casino in Italy, by securing 9% of the marketplace revenue share. The Stars Group Italy sector was followed closely by Lottomatica and Sisal. According to SBCNews, Lottomatica captured 8.8% of the online casino revenue share while Sisal earned 8.3%.
Operators in Italy have to compete with new brands as well as established companies. Currently, within the top ten, companies like Eurobet, bwin and William Hill are able to capture small portions of the market share. Eurobet came in at 6.2% for the month while 888 was not far behind at 5.6%. Bwin and William Hill saw 5.5% and 4.5% respectively while Starvegas and Sks365 each captured 4.1%.
The Italian market continues to show support for online casino growth and has recorded positive gains in regard to skill games and online poker tournament events. In March, revenues for these categories reported €8m total for the month.
When it comes to online poker, PokerStars reigns supreme. The brand has captured 62% of the current market share, which leaves the competition a small amount of maneuvering room. The closest competitors of the brand are Lottomatica and Sisal, both of which only have 6% each of online poker market revenues.
