After breaking ground on the Project First Light Resort and Casino just last week, the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe has announced they are now going to be hosting a vendor and job fair next months. Individuals interested in learning more about the employment positions to be offered at the casino can attend the fair and learn more.
The groundbreaking ceremony just happened last week for the $1 billion casino and resort development in Taunton, Massachusetts. Chairman Cedric Cromwell stated in a recent press release that a development of this magnitude will be able to generate hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity for southern Massachusetts, creating a boon for the tribal citizens, residents of the area and businesses.
The tribe has stated they expect to hire as many as 2,600 individuals for casino employment once 2017 rolls around. The casino has a launch date set for the summer. The construction of the resort project has created around 1,000 jobs in the area.
Interested vendors and potential employees can attend the job fair on the 14th of May from 11am to 4pm at the Holiday Inn located in Taunton. This is the planned location by the tribe for the job fair to take place.
