In Spain, Cirsa Gaming Corporation SA and Luckia Gaming Group SA are reportedly hoping to be given consent to bring a new casino complete with an array of slots and gaming tables as well as a sportsbook to the northwestern port city of Vigo.
According to a report from G3Newswire, the pair have applied for official permission to spend as much as $7.37 million in order to transform an 18,298 sq ft area of the Galician city’s new harbor-side A Laxe Shopping Center into a casino also featuring a bar and a restaurant.
Terrassa-based Cirsa Gaming Corporation SA already reportedly operates the nearby Casino La Toja in partnership with Luckia Gaming Group SA and hopes that the new Casino de Vigo can be open by the end of the year offering employment for around 105 locals in addition to creating as many as 80 indirect jobs.
G3Newswire reported that last week saw Jose Gonzalez Fuentes, President for Corunna-headquartered Luckia Gaming Group SA, join with Braulio Perez from Cirsa Gaming Corporation SA to officially present their plan for the new casino to Vigo’s mayor, Abel Caballero. The pair purportedly declared that the downtown venue would seek to attract locals, as well as tourists from nearby Portugal and, could see the city of 293,000 people earn as much as $36.78 million in annual tax revenues.
